Coach Tubby Smith is on that short list of active coaches that have won an NCAA Tournament Championship (1998). His ten (10) years at Kentucky was the best of his career. All ten (10) of his seasons with Kentucky were winning ones. In addition to the championship, he led Kentucky to three (3) Elite Eight finishes (1999, 2003 and 2005) and back-to-back Sweet Sixteen finishes (2001 and 2002). In 2016, he led Texas Tech to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2007.
A few more trips to the NCAA tournament will enhance Coach Smith's legacy.
