Coach McDermott has an overall winning record of 445 –276 (.617). Added to his list of accolades are seven (7) NCAA Tournament appearances (2004, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017) and a NIT appearance in 2016. He also led Creighton to the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament finals in 2011.
Coach McDermott hasn’t proved that he can coach a team deep into the NCAA post season as of yet. However, I think it’s going to come soon.
