Coach McDermott has an overall winning record of 454 –276 (.614). Added to his list of accolades are eight (8) NCAA Tournament appearances (2004, 2005, 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018) and a NIT appearance in 2016. He also led Creighton to the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament finals in 2011.
Coach McDermott hasn’t proven that he can coach a team deep into the NCAA post season as of yet. However, I think it’s going to come soon.
