D1coachcorner.com is a website that focuses solely on Division 1 head coaches. The site compiles information on all 351 Division 1 head coaches and rates them based on their record, tenure, recruiting and post season tournament success. Development on the site began in May of 2014 and was completed December of 2014.

D1coachcorner.com rates Division 1 head coaches based on stars. The rating ranges from Five Star Generals to Not Rated. See legend below for explanation.

Five Star Generals
The highest rating assigned to a head coach. A five star general is a current or future hall of famer. One of the mandatory requirements for receiving a Five Star General rating is a National Championship. However, a National Championship is not the sole requirement needed to be rated as a five star general. Tenure, a winning record, recruitment, and consistent Post season success is also considered in the assignment of a Five Star General rating.
The second highest rating assigned to a head coach. A Four Star General rating is assigned to a division 1 head coach who has a winning overall record and consistent post season success. A final four appearance is a mandatory requirement needed to receive a four star rating. However, a final four appearance is not the sole requirement needed to be rated as a Four Star General. Tenure, a winning record, recruitment, and consistent post season success is also considered.
The third highest rating assigned to a head coach. A Three Star General rating is assigned to a division 1 head coach who has a winning overall record along with consistent post season success. A sweat sixteen appearance is a mandatory requirement needed to receive a three star rating. However, a sweat sixteen appearance is not the sole requirement needed to be rated as a Three Star General. Tenure, a winning record, recruitment, and consistent post season success is also considered.
A two star general rating is assigned to a division 1 head coach who has a winning overall record along with consistent post season appearances. At least one NCAA or NIT Tournament appearances is Mandatory for receiving a two star rating.
A One star general rating is assigned to a division 1 head coach who has a winning overall record along with some post season success. At least one NCAA or NIT Tournament appearance is neccessary but not manditory to receive a one star rating. Tenure and recruiting is also considered.

Chance Ratings:
Chance ratings are assigned to teams based on their chances of accomplishing a specific goal. The ratings range from Poor to Excellent. See Legend below for more details:
Excellent
An “excellent” rating indicates that the particular team in question has an 80% or greater chance of accomplishing that particular goal.
A “great” rating indicates that the particular team in question has a 79% to 51% chance of accomplishing that particular goal.
A “good” rating indicates that the particular team in question has a 50% to 31% chance of accomplishing that particular goal.
A “fair” rating indicates that the particular team in question has a 30% or less chance of accomplishing that particular goal.
Poor
A “poor” rating indicates that the particular team in question has no chance in hell to accomplish that particular goal.
Not Rated
Not Rated is assigned to head coaches who have very little to no post season success combined with losing overall records. Not Rated is also assigned to new Rookie division 1 head coaches.
